Your chances of having a plentiful share each week are greatly increased because we do not rely on just one farm, but 8 farms scattered throughout a five county region. This allows our CSA to "weather" the storms and extremes in our weather patterns.
We offer an "exchange table" at each weekly pick up site. You may substitute one item you won't use for another item you will use.
We offer an egg share.
We offer a soup & bread share.
We offer local, sustainable food products purchased easily on our on-line store to our CSA share-holders. Items include but are not limited to:
Honey Mushrooms Pastured Poultry Organic Beef & Pork Shitake Mushrooms Basil's Harvest herbal vinegars, homemade sauerkraut, and other gourmet foods.
We have a volunteer program where you and your family can really learn about growing food by coming out to one of our farms, help spread the news about Good Earth Food Alliance, or help unload boxes at a pick up site.
We provide an educational website, a weekly e-blast in season with recipes, storage tips, news from our farmers, and occasional "call to action" for the local food movement.

Good Earth Food Alliance (GEFA) emerged from a need for small growers and producers to work collaboratively to help meet the needs of a burgeoning local food movement. By avoiding duplication in our planting and harvesting and assisting each other through the challenges of the growing season, we aim to see more safe locally-grown food on plates throughout west central Illinois.

Providers of safe, chemical-free fruits, vegetables, and herbs
From growing watermelons for our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) members, to tiny salad greens for local restaurants, sustainable production methods are the benchmarks of the GEFA network of growers. No synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides are ever used on GEFA fruits, vegetables and herbs. All growers abide by our Sanitation Guidelines to ensure the produce remains free from contamination during all phases of the growing, harvesting, and packaging processes. We are serious about keeping our food safe.
Advocates for
Small Sustainable Farms
We are a new generation of farmers. We aim to stay small because this keeps us sustainable and ensures our ability to make frequent contact with our soil, its bounty, and the surrounding habitats. We are diversely educated (Who We Are) yet find our backgrounds bring a plethora of talent and experience to the meeting table. What's more - we believe in education and seek creative ways to pass along our passions about food and our planet.
