Volunteer Opportunities

Connect with the land, the farmers, & other members.  Working with the farmers gives you a direct connection to the food you eat and will teach you a good deal about sustainable growing.  It takes lots of hands to operate a CSA and if you want to be involved, we’ll be glad to have your help.

Current Needs

Research Assistant for website -

      ~ Research basic produce information and fill in template.  Need to have access to internet.

Writers for newsletters -

     ~  Take information from research assistants and turn into newsletter articles.

 Grant Researchers & Writers –

    ~ Search for grants that would be helpful to help meet the goals of Good Earth Food Alliance.  Examples 
     would include grants to pay for interns; workshops; equipment.

Special Events -

    ~ Help set up booth and talk to public about the benefits of eating locally and joining GEFA.

 Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities (April-November)

Monthly field work days

     Help at a different farm each month.  Work will include weeding, harvesting, composting and whatever our farmers are doing that day.  More information will be available closer to the work date.

Weekly harvest helpers

     We harvest with 24 hours of your pick-up.  Help a farmer on Monday night or Tuesday morning harvest & process various herbs, fruit & vegetables.

Photography

     Pictures of farmers and volunteers at work; life on the farms; and items for newsletters.
Pictures can be taken during monthly field days, harvesting, preparation for pick-up, and events.
